Our stay at the resort was overall quite enjoyable, especially with the stunning view of the mountains from our cabin and the clean, well-kept facilities. However, we did notice that the cabins could benefit from a bit of updating and more thorough cleaning before arrival. The outdoor space, including the firepit, was a lovely addition that we appreciated.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. The area is incredibly beautiful, especially at night with the campfire pits, but I was disappointed with the room quality and cleanliness. The staff seemed friendly, yet there were issues with our stay that were hard to overlook. For the price we paid, I expected more comfort and better facilities.

Rooms

The cabin we stayed in was spacious, but it had a moldy smell and outdated furnishings. I also had to deal with mice in the room, which was quite off-putting.

The service at the general store was friendly, but overall I felt like the staff didn’t engage with us as much as they could have.

The dining experience was hit and miss. Breakfast was average, with substandard eggs, but I did enjoy the shrimp and grits at dinner.
Facilities

The general facilities seemed adequate for activities, but the WiFi was spotty, and I expected more from a resort.

My stay was a mixed bag. The location in the woods was stunning, perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings and riding the Tail of the Dragon. However, the cabin we stayed in felt a bit outdated and had some cleanliness issues. The service was responsive, but I struggled with the lack of Wi-Fi in our cabin, making it hard to plan activities. Overall, a beautiful area but with some shortcomings in the accommodations.

Rooms
6.0
The cabin was somewhat dated, with a musty smell but provided a decent amount of space and amenities like a flat-screen TV. Unfortunately, it felt a bit neglected.
Service

The staff responded quickly to our towel request and were generally helpful, but the overall service could be improved.
Location
9.0
The area was absolutely beautiful, resembling a rain forest with plenty of wildlife. Perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite limited within the resort, which made meal planning tricky since the store didn’t have fresh produce.
Facilities
6.0
The resort has good family-friendly activities and a lodge, but Wi-Fi access was an issue, especially in the cabins.

5.0/10

I had high hopes for this resort given its location near the beautiful Fontana Dam and across the Appalachian Trail. However, our cabin was in poor condition with appliances that barely worked and cleanliness issues that were hard to overlook. While the surroundings were picturesque, the state of our lodging made the experience disappointing. The restaurant on-site was okay but didn’t quite meet expectations for quality.

Rooms
5.0
The cabin was spacious but aged, with appliances in disrepair and a musty smell that made it uncomfortable.
Service
5.0
The management seemed overwhelmed, and it often felt like no one was paying attention to our concerns.
Location
8.0
The location is gorgeous, especially at night when you can enjoy a campfire, but it lacks convenient access to nearby amenities.
Dining
5.0
The dining was decent but nothing special, with breakfast items falling short of expectations.
Facilities
5.0
While the cabin was comfortable in size, many facilities felt outdated and not well-maintained.

6.8/10

The resort has a stunning location surrounded by nature, which is truly a standout feature. However, the cabin we stayed in was quite outdated and not up to par with cleanliness. The kitchen setup was challenging, making meal preparation difficult, and the TV reception was very poor, which added to the frustration. On a positive note, the tranquil atmosphere really allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery around us.

Rooms
5.0
The cabin we rented was outdated and felt a bit run down, though it was relatively clean. It could definitely use some updates to improve comfort.
Service
6.0
The service was decent, but with the limited dining options, it felt like we had to venture out for meals. There was a lack of attentiveness at certain times.
Location
9.0
The resort is beautifully located, offering serene views and a quiet environment, making it a great place to unwind.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were very limited in the area, which pushed us to depend on the resort's offerings. The food at the Wildwood Grill was decent, but not amazing.
Facilities
7.0
While some amenities like the pool and lazy river were available, they didn't appeal to us during our stay.
